Independence in Washington

It’s already been a few weeks since July 4th, but I wanted to share the memorable moments that passed on that day. I started out early on that fourth morning and met with friends on the steps of the National Archive where they had a quaint reading of the Declaration of Independence by the writers themselves.

Afterwards, we went to Independence Ave to watch the parade. There were lots of marching bands and a handful of floats. Honestly I was expecting more from the national’s capitol July 4th parade but at least the man on stilts and unicycles were fun to watch.

We got much needed gelato in Chinatown getting refreshed from the heat, and headed to our friend’s for a family cookout.
